I’m a bit confused about this product. I thought they’d been out for a while, but the press release I was sent states they are out in June. And then there is mention of a new colour, Rose Gold, which may be the one that is out in June. I’m also not sure which colour I’ve been sent, it may be Rose Gold, but looking at the descriptions I’d say it looks more like Bronzed Bronze… I wasn’t asked if I wanted review this product it just turned up in the post so I’m a bit clueless. Actually on reflection I’m sure this must be Rose Gold.
A vial of fine loose shadow this comes with an applicator built in. The built in applicator isn’t great, it’s pretty huge for a start meaning when I tried to sweep it into the inner corners of my eyelids I covered a much greater area than I wanted to, but it’s ok I blended out with a fluffy brush. The applicator is so large it barely fits through the vial neck, it does come out fairly easily but its a tight fit meaning its hard not to leave a trail of powder as you go, it’s also spring loaded… I’m not even sure what purpose this serves! You are supposed to shake the vial to make sure the powder is on the applicator, tap the cap to remove excess, and remove from the vial… easier said than done. That said, I’m nit picking really, it is convenient not to have to use my own brush and therefore perfect product for on the go.
The shadow itself is gorgeous, it is indeed high shine and provides a beautiful wash of colour across the eyelid. I did have a very small amount of creasing at the end of the day but I had to look very closely in my magnifying mirror to see it. I really like the colour I was sent too. I am still assuming it is Rose Gold. I had a very small amount of fall out on application but this was quickly and easily swept away with my fan brush.
All in all there are pros and cons, the colour is lovely, the portability is great and the finish and wear are great on these, probably perfect with a primer. The cons, well the sprung applicator is less than idea and I don’t think they are very cheap at £15 each… I’d probably say half that was a better price. Looking at the list of colours I’d love a look at Electric (deep teal), Gold Medal (pale gold), Ice (frosted pink) and Meteroite (Iced mocha) but I’d be looking at £60 for four eyeshadows… so they aren’t cheap although I think there’s a fair amount of product there.
So its a mixed review for these, they are lovely, but there are issues.
