Hello and welcome back to Bloggers Talk Beauty!

I’m going to start with a plea. Regular readers will know this ismy weekly feature where bloggers of any genre tell us about their favourite beauty products. This week’s post is the last one unless more people take part!  Any blogger of any genre is welcome, all you need is to like talking about beauty products. If you’d like to take part, you’ll find the form at the bottom of this post.

This week taking part is the lovely Erin from Musings of a So-Called Shutterbug.

Tell us a bit about your blog.

I’ve been blogging for around 10 years but this blog is around 6 and a half years old – the longest I’ve managed to keep a blog going! It’s a general lifestyle blog so I feature whatever I’m most passionate about at the time. There’s food, travel, fitness and at the moment I’m featuring a lot of beauty.

Do you have a morning skincare routine? If so, what is it?

I’m a firm believer that most of the regenerating work your skin does is overnight, so I tend not to do anything to my skin in the morning – why ruin all the good work it’s done overnight? I don’t use anything at night that needs removing in the morning, so I just go straight in with my makeup usually.

Do you have an evening skincare routine? If so, what is it?

At night I remove my makeup with a Garnier micellar cleansing wipes which are lovely on my skin. I then use Neutrogena’s Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Wash. I love the smell of this and how it leaves my skin feeling. Plus it’s pink! I use St Ives Apricot Face Scrub for sensitive skin once a week too. Then a moisturise using Garnier’s Moisture Match cream in either +Matte or +Soft depending on what the weather’s been like and how my skin is reacting. I’ve also been testing Benefit’s It’s Potent dark eye circle cream (which appears to be working!) and Urlash eyelash growth serum (which also appears to be working) which I’ve been applying before bed.

What make up item can you not leave the house without wearing?

I’m actually fine leaving the house without makeup on a non-work day, so I’d just make sure I had a cherry chapstick on me (I have been known to risk missing trains due to forgetting this in my bag and having to make an emergency Boots pitstop!)
On days I need a face on, I make sure I at least have YSL Touch Eclat under my eyes, have tightlined with Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner, and have a slick of Lancome Hypnose on my lashes. (Sorry that’s 3 items!!)

What are your favourite skincare brands and why?

I really like Garnier for skin care. I have a really sensitive skin and they do some really great products which work for the various skin issues I have. Plus they’re a great price and usually easily available.

What are your favourite cosmetic brands and why?

I adore Urban Decay and have too many eyeshadow palettes for a girl who only wears eyeshadow occasionally! (I’ve recently aquired the Vice 4 palette and I can’t wait to try it out)
Having recently discovered TheBalm, I now own quite a few of their products and I’m definitely a fan.
I’m dying to get my hands on some of NYX’s products, once they set up a stand near me. Their products look amazing and at such great prices. Oh, and I’m waiting for ColourPop to get their act together and sell in the UK – again amazing prices and the products get amazing reviews.

Do you have a holy grail item? One that you simply cannot be without? Why is it so special?

I can’t be without YSL Touch Eclat. I’ve been buying it for over 15 years. It’s perfect for me as a sheer under eye concealer, and works great on top of a fuller coverage face as a highlighter.

I’m always looking for new blogs to check out, so please recommend one of your favourites!

I have been a little lazy with my blog reading of late, however I always love to read Orangette.  Molly Wizenberg, author of A Homemade Life, writes the most beautiful blogs with gorgeous photography, all about her life and the restaurants she owns. Definitely worth a read if you enjoy lifestyle blogs.

I’m so happy you took part Erin, thank you! I too am devoted to Touche Eclat and I’m pretty sure you’re going to LOVE the Vice palette when you try it!

If you’re a blogger of any genre, and you’d like to take part, then all you need to do is fill in this form, and email me a photo you’d like me to use! I look forward to hearing from you!
