I recently made a few cheeky Bobbi Brown purchases that I wanted to share with you.

First up the Pretty In Pink Lipgloss. £17

Bobbi Brown Pretty in Pink

A sheer hint of pink lipgloss that doesn’t add much in the way of colour, but adds a touch of healthy pink to the lips. Shown below swatched and on my lips.

My first experience of a Bobbi Brown lip gloss and I found it fairly thick and a little sticky which does help the longevity. Also it’s minty which I think is a nice touch.

The next item I bought is the Retouching Powder in Yellow. £25

The retouching powders are new and come in a variety of colours, each of which serves a different purpose. Yellow is to tone down redness in light to medium skin tones and it works amazingly well.

In the following pictures, you can see the loose powder on my hand and then blended out. I didn’t move my hand between taking the two pictures so the light is the same, and I think you can see the blotchyness and redness on my hand is vastly reduced on the second photograph, without giving me a yellow hand!

You can use the powder in various ways, in place of your usual face powder, on top of your usual face powder, with the pink shade you can use it as a blusher, you can use it to correct your foundation if it’s not quite right, or on bare skin… really it’s a very versatile product. The next unflattering photo is just to show you the product on my skin… I get quite red around my nostrils and I think this really helps.

I really want the Full Coverage Face Brush to apply it with and the white version for brightening and illuminating! Very impressed.

The final item I bought is the Sparkle Eye Shadow in Gold Star. £20

I’m going to struggle to review this as my photos don’t really do it justice but before I talk, have a look at it in action.

This is the finest glitter I think I have ever seen and it’s  so so pretty. For these photographs I haven’t used any kind of eyeshadow primer or base, but I think it goes without saying that if you did you’d get a slightly more obvious effect. As it is this is just gorgeous, it’s the softest hint of gold and sparkle very wearable. I found that on application I had no fall out but after 8 hours of wear, whilst it still looked as though I’d just applied it, it had migrated a bit under my eyes. Very pretty and very understated. I fancy getting Ballet which is pink and Cement which is a grey beige. I’ll do another post soon with this over a base so you can see the difference.

All in all very pleased with my purchases and together they make a lovely soft day time look.

All items were purchased from and are available at Selfridges.

Do any of the Spring Bobbi Brown items take your fancy? I fancy the new Creamy Matte Lip colours,  the Sheer Colour cheek tints and the Brightening Finishing Powder is really calling my name!
