I couldn’t resist it. I was fairly restrained for me I think, I passed up a couple of things I’d have loved like the beautiful blusher, but it was hard! Chanel’s Spring Collection this year is really pretty and all of the lip products in particular stood out…but I have so many lipsticks, all barely touched because I rarely wear the same one twice in a month… I had to stop at just the one. So this is just a little look at the bits I did get.
Firstly, Black Pearl polish. I don’t love this in the bottle, but I do love it on, it’s a soft grey to my eyes and although it has green in it, under electric light it seems a bit Air Force Blue. I really like it.

Next up is Chanel Ombrés Perlées de Chanel eyeshadow compact, five iridescent shadows in a new formula that have received very mixed reviews in blogland so I’m hoping they work for me and I don’t join the those who haven’t got on with them…. we’ll see! Swatches are at the end of the post.

And lastly, I was really taken with the Rouge Allure lipstick in Coquette. I do really love the Rouge Allure formula, it doesn’t last a terribly long time on me but it’s colour rich and so soft and moisturising. This is a nice shade that somehow manages to be bright and spring like without being too in your face. I’m smitten.

And please excuse the startled expression, this is just to give you an idea of the colour in relation to my whole colouring.

So last but not least, the swatches:

I shall have a good play with all this over the next few days and hope to bring you a “face of the day” post of them all in action.

Will be interested to see what look you can create with the eyeshadow palette – I was tempted by it, but am just not experimental enough with my eyeshadow application, so knew I wouldn’t use it to its fullest potential.

I’m loving the Aragonite lipgloss, am wearing it now – does it suit me? [pouts]

    😉

    OMG loooove the nail polish!xx

I’ll be interested to see what you think of the eyeshadow palette. I’m wearing it today and unfortunately it’s creased on me, even with a primer. I ended up setting it with the Enigma quad, but I might as well just use the quad alone instead. 🙁 I’ll review it properly on my blog later, do come by. x

The lipstick is really lovely on you, not heard best reports on the shadows so will be interested to see how you get on as they do look lovely. Nail polish doesnt look as frosty as I though it might either but not convinced its unique enough to warrant the spend but might change my mind if I saw it in the flesh! Your nails – amazing!

  7. Charlie says:

Debbie, I’ve heard mixed reviews with some finding them awful, others loving them. I’ve worn them today with a touch of creasing but no major probs… so far so good. The polish isn’t frosty, it is pearly. It is lovely. And thank you!

Anitacska, mine creased slightly today, but enough to be easily fixed with a gentle touch of my fingertip….I will definitely check your post!

    Simone, its lovely isn’t it!

    Flump, you look beeeyoootiful!

Charli – sorted on twitter now I hope!

Diamondsandpearls, its so hard to resist isn’t it!

Ah, I got the Black Pearl yesterday and am not quite as sold on it. It looks far more greeny on me than I’d expected (thought it would be more of a pewter shade), and very similar to OPI’s “Cuckoo for this Colour” which I already own. Not a patch on Paradoxal or Particuliere, my real loves, although a (male) student did comment how nice it was this afternoon, so it must have something!

My fave Chanel lipsticks are Cambon and Mademoiselle – have you tried either of those? They’re the Rouge Coco range I think. Brilliant staying power, but not at all drying, which is high praise from me, as I’m usually all about the gloss.

Love love love the lipstick, works exceedingly well with your colouring and hair. Jan x

  10. Charlie says:

Jan, thank you very much! x

Cat, It’s funny, I was expecting mine to be more green on me, but it’s not, which I’m pleased about. I wonder if there is variation in the bottles? I do have a couple of Rouge Coco’s but neither of the ones you mention, Mademoiselle is on my list though! x

  11. ModestyBrown says:

That lipstick looks great on you, it looks like such a nice finish I’m hoping to go back for a peep at the collection this week. I have a feeling it might have to be bypassed for Peacocky and NARS though.

That lipstick is such a beautiful colour!

  13. Kat says:

That lipstick looks really nice on you!

I wishing I bought the nail polish instead of the eyeshadow palette. If Boots had a better return policy I’d take it back.

  14. Gemx says:

The lipstick is gorgeous, such a lovely colour. It really suits you 🙂

  15. Chanel have really created something that feels like I NEED it!

Love the eyeshadow palette – so wearable

Love the lipstick on you, I love the gloss too and was really tempted but the funds just do not allow 🙁

  16. Charlie says:

    Thank you all! xx
