Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser SPF15

I used to not get the point of Tinted Moisturisers. Why bother when they appeared to do nothing…but it turned out I was just using rubbish ones.

I’ve tried a couple I’ve really liked in the last two years or so, one of which was the Clinique Almost Make Up which strangely seems to have been discontinued which is odd because it was lovely!

So what is it? The answer is in the the product name really, it’s a lightly tinted moisurister containing SPF15 and just enough cover to even out your skin tone. It’s available in six shades which given the sheerness of the product should be enough for most skin tones and it costs £21.

Perfect for Summer days when you don’t want heavy make up on your face but not so great when blemish stricken, which sadly I am rather a lot at the moment, but on clear skin days, this is what I’m reaching for mostly. Having said that, it works rather well on minor blemishes too, just not anything bigger than a pimple or two.

It’s quite thick and takes a bit of work to blend in and when first applied it can look quite heavy, but just bear with it, it soon settles into your skin to leave you looking fresh and natural. Very nice. Also I find it lasts really well on me, it’s not shiny and I would think probably would work well on oily skins, or at least, as well as a tinted moisturiser could work.

You only need a tiny bit so a bottle will last me a long long time. A very nice product indeed and I highly recommend you check this out if you have tinted moisturiser on your shopping list this Summer. Love.

PS: I have shade 01 which is perfect for me.

I never used to like tinted moisturisers either, until I got hold of Shiseidos version and now I’m a big fan. There are a lot of rubbish ones out there though. Usually the ones which claim to suit all skintones with just one shade – bah!

  2. I was just the same as you with wondering what the point of a tinted moisturiser was..I totally agree though it is something I would reach for when blemish free on those nice summer days

Hehe I hear you but seriously they are a god-send on days when you only want a bit of coverage and can’t be bothered with mixing foundation and moisturiser together which is basically what I do with all foundations to water it down to sheerness. Thanks for this, another good one to try is the Dior HydrAction Tinted Moisturisers. Gorgeous finish with substancial coverage. Cheers as always Charlie xx

I’ve really been thinking about trying out tinted moisturisers this summer & I’ve been tempted on this one. I think I might have to try it out x

  6. I love tinted moisturisers for summer.. I’ve recently swapped from Laura Mercier to Bobbi Brown and love it.. it used to be that tinted moisturisers were too short on coverage and too long on moisturising but it seems to be the other way round now. I usually opt for oil free if possible even though my skin isn’t oily..just think its nicer in summer. I haven’t yet tried the Clinique one but liking the sound of it a lot x

I am a bit obsessed with tinted moisturisers and I’d already heard good things about this one. I quite like using them as a base and adding a foundation down the centre of the face as required. This sounds perfect for summer.

Modesty thats a good idea actually, I’ve just been going for powder down the centre of my face but foundation could work..
