We don’t hear much about the brand Mary Kay do we? I don’t know why and it wasn’t on my radar at all…but that said, the name is really ringing a bell with me. I know the company has been around a long time, fifty years I believe, so perhaps it’s something from my childhood that my Mum used, I’m really not sure, but anyway, these products are my first experience of Mary Kay and I’m liking what I’ve tried!

Starting with the stunning Beauty That Counts NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Celebrate. Now that’s quite a mouthful, but the “beauty that counts” portion means that £1 from the total cost of this lipstick goes to charity when you buy it. It costs £10.

Isn’t that pretty? The two swirled colours are called Cream & Sugar and Pink Parfait.  The gloss itself is a neutral sheer shade with a teeny bit of shimmer and is really moisturising and non sticky, it’s a really lovely every day lip product.

And then I want to show you the Translucent Loose Powder (£18).

Translucent Loose Powder

This powder is ever so slightly off white, and promises to be completely translucent making it suitable for all skin tones from the palest to the darkest. Obviously I can’t test that out as I’ve only one skin which is pale, but it certainly works on me. It’s incredibly soft and velvety. I do have to be careful not to use too much but with care this works really well and sets my foundation beautifully. To be fair, it does say in the info to use a very light hand in applying…as is the case with most powders!

It’s also one of those powders that diffuses light and therefore can appear to “soften” any imperfections.

Oh and a final shout out to this little beauty which served me faithfully in the recent heatwave.

Minty lotion for hot legs and feet, sheer bliss and a very decent £8 price tag too.

All in all, I like the things I’ve tried and will be keeping a closer eye on this brand, who knows what hidden gems may be lurking in their product catalogue, I’m off to look!
