There’s a new fragrance joining the Jo Malone London cologne joining the range this Autumn and it’s one I really love. Perhaps my favourite that I’ve tried to date. It’s not just the fragrance I love, but the feelings it evokes and also the stunning imagery.
I always talk about how rubbish I am at describing scents, and it’s true.
The press release reads:
Childhood memories of blackberry pricking…stained lips and sticky palms.
There’s not a whole lot to add to this really. It does smell nostalgic, it does smell autumnal, it does smell beautiful and unusual and it is absolutely beautiful. I’ve worn it a quite a lot since receiving the sample but I can see me living in this once Autumn really hits. Despite the vetiver and cedarwood, and of course the fruity blackberry tang, there’s more than a hint of grapefruit which I think adds a touch of brightness.
You must sniff this, it certainly won’t be to everyone’s taste but I do think everyone should try it!
According the release I have here, if combining is your thing, try it with a spritz of Lime Basil and Mandarin or with Nectarine Blossom & Honey.
Personally, I don’t think I’d want to mix this, I love it just how it is. I wouldn’t say no to a pot of the matching Body Creme. I’m very much in love with my Lime Basil and Mandarin Creme, the texture is amazing and I wouldn’t mind adding a layer of the Blackberry and Bay Creme before the fragrance. (Graham if you’re reading this, this is a heavy hint for you!)
The Cologne is available in either 30ml or 100ml bottles and is priced at £38 and £76 respectively. There is also the Body Creme at £48, a Body and Hand Wash at £30 and finally the Home Candle at £38.
