So I’ve already blogged about the beautiful Golden Hat Blush Palette which is something really special and here are the final two pieces in this small collection.
Firstly there’s the L’Absolu Rouge lipstick in 132 (19.50) and it’s a beaut. I’ve already blogged about the lovely finish of this formula. Glossy, but not too glossy, slightly sheer in general but in this shade that really isn’t the case. It’s a light texture that feels gorgeous on and isn’t sticky. I’m not even going to bother talking about the colour because the pictures will speak for themselves.
And then finally there’s the red polish, Le Vernis in 102 £15. I’ve cocked up and unfortunately there’s no swatch. I did swatches, then deleted all my pictures because they were blurry, by which time I’d removed the polish and started swatching others and then I had a nail disaster of some very serious breaks… which made me bite the rest and now I’m too ashamed to show you my nails! I’m sorry.
It looks gorgeous and having previously reviewed Lancome Le Vernis, I find the finish and wear really good.
So all in all, the Golden Hat collection is bijoux but gorgeous, but if I’m going to be picky I’d say that it’s very similar indeed to the last collection 29, Saint Honore in that there’s a red lipstick and polish (although the shades are different) and a very pale blusher (although the Golden Hat Blush palette is much paler). I could justify buying both of the palettes because they are so beautiful visually, and indeed a pleasure to use, but the polish and lipstick, well unless you are a red connoisseur then you probably don’t need both sets. That said the finish of the lipsticks is entirely different…well it’s up to you. I think all the products are beautiful, I just think that the reds and pale blusher are very similar in concept if not finish and texture and it would have been nice to see something new, but these are classics so it’s not exactly a complaint.
