Revlon Suede Rhapsody A/W 2010 Collection

So we have three new lipsticks, two matte, one creme, two nail polishes, both matte and an eyeshadow palette with four shades.

I have really mixed feelings about this collection. I don’t see how it gels together in anyway, but then, I’m well known for being too matchy-matchy and not known for breaking boundaries with colour experimentation so what do I know. All I know is that I felt that once I’d used the eyeshadows, none of the lipsticks matched! No doubt though another stunning blogger will use them in a FotD and prove me completely and utterly wrong!

So here are some swatches:

The top row is the four shades from the Silver Fox Colorstay 12 Hour Eyeshadow palette and below are the three lipsticks, Mink Creme Super Lustrous and Stormy Pink and Smoked Peach.

I’ll talk about the products in a little more detail now. Starting with the Silver Fox Palette.

Lovely quality shadows with a decent level of pigment, I’m not sure I love the colour combination but there’s no argument from me about the quality of these! Will definitely get some use out of them.

The lipsticks are great. I really like the transparent lids, allowing you to see the colour within.

I don’t love the the creme lipstick, its just not a great colour on me, but I am smitten with the two matte shades, Smoked Peach and Stormy Pink. In particular Smoked Peach. And my gosh, the wear on them is great. Two bits of toast and a coffee and still well and truly in place. Love them.

They a re a bit drying, but no more so than any other matte lipstick I’ve tried.

Lastly, the nail varnishes, a matter jewel green called Emerald City Matte and a rich wine shade called Ruby Ribbon Matte.

These look gorgeous on, beautiful rich finish but I have no pictures. Why? Because before I’d got round to taking the photos of my nails, but within an hour of painting my nails, they were chipped. Not just one tiny chip on one nail, chips on all but two of my nails. That’s no good. I know Matte polishes are not hard wearing, I know they chip easily, but seriously, less than hour? That’s dire. So there are no pics, sorry.

So there you have it, mixed feelings on this collection, there are bits I love, bits I like and bits I really don’t like! As always, reasonably priced and there are bits you must have, especially if you love Matte lips like I do.

Anyway, I’ll leave you with a stupidly wide eyed FotD pic using Smoked Peach lippie and the Silver Fox Palette. And a touch too much Bronzer. Ooops.

If that doesn’t give you nightmares, nothing will….
