Due to a variety of things (weather, surgery, not drinking enough water for a start) my lips are in an awful condition. I mean diabolical. I’ve been gently scrubbing, moisturising, leaving well alone, trying every product I have at my disposal, but yet they still fail to improve…as such I’m bringing you this post rather late to the party, and also without lip swatches…but you know there comes a point in time where you just have to get on with it and blog regardless!
So then, Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms are not unlike the original and much loved Chubby Sticks which I have blogged about extensively. The main difference is depth of colour, hence the inclusion of “Intense” in the name. Whereas the original Chubby Stick range offers a sheer, and soft, but still obvious colour on the lips, the Chubby Stick Intense range offer essentially a more lipstick-like look while still infused with shea butter, mango seed butter and jojoba seed oil for the moisturising balm effect.
There are eight shades in the range and I have two. Plushest Punch and Chunkiest Chilli.
I’ve already mentioned I don’t have lip swatches of these for you, but wrist swatches I can do. Chunkiest Chilli on the left and Plushest Punch on the right.
I think you can see how rich the colour is, and it’s worth mentioning that I find these to be buildable on the lips so you can sheer them out or build them up with great ease and of course the formula is tried and tested and still and beautiful as ever.
Now I must just address one thing that you may think needs explaining, and that is if they are so moisturising, why aren’t I showing lip swatches and why aren’t they fixing my dry lips? All I can say on this is that as previously mentioned, nothing is fixing my lips at the moment, not even my most intensive lip treatments, so I can’t blame Chubby Sticks for not working on me at the moment! I’m drinking more water at the moment and hoping that things improve soon! Prior to the extreme dry lips I’m currently suffering from I found these to be comfortable and light on the lips but also moisturising, much like the original chubby sticks.
If you loved the original Chubby Sticks, you WILL love these.
Also, must share this pic of the very very cute macaroons/macarons I received as they were so sweet and so yummy!
Chubby Stick Intense Moisturising Lip Colour Balms are £16.00 each.

Sometimes I talk too much I know. Sometimes there’s not a huge amount to say about a product other than this is really really lovely, you need this.
So, this is really really lovely, you need this. Melvita Honey Lips Gloss Balm. Honey scent, sweet taste, lips nourished and protected and with a very very small amount of gold sparkle. This is a handbag staple.
£11 and worth every penny. Available from uk.melvita.com

Carmex! Everyone knows Carmex right? Everyone loves it don’t they?!
Well I’ve been carrying around a little pot of Cherry Carmex for ages, because a) it lasts for ages and b) it works and c) because nothing beats the dryness you get after you’ve had a cold and I get a LOT of colds and d) the mentholly strawberryness is yum.
Carmex sent me three products to try out. A little tube of strawberry carmex, smells and tastes yummy, does a great job, like all Carmex does, but is perfect for those of you who don’t like tubs you have to put your fingers into. Good job!
Then there’s a little pot of original Carmex, for me this is my bedtime lip balm, I keep it on my bedside table and its the last thing I do every night along with applying my cuticle oil, sometimes I don’t even bother with cuticle oil and just use the Carmex! I wake up with soft moisturised lips. Marvellous.
The main product I wanted to tell you about is the Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm, perfect for me, lip balm meets colour. I absolutely adore lipstick, I have billions of them, but I actually don’t wear lipstick that often, I far more often reach for a gloss or a balm, or one of the sheer lipsticks around these days… now I can have subtle sheer lip colour with all the benefits of an ultra balm. In this case. Peach.
SPF 15 Peachy shade, vitamin E and Aloe. I absolutely love this product.
The Mositure Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balms (bit of a mouthful!!) are £4.49 and Carmex tubes and pots are a bargainous £2.54. Amazing.
*Disclosure – Products provide to me free of charge for review purposes*
I don’t very often blog about press releases as I’m not generally happy to promote something I’ve not tried myself unless its something I find really appealing or exciting and so it is that I’ve yet to try anything from the Andrea Garland range but every time I get sent a press release for her products I am filled with a desire to own everything so I really must remedy the situation soon and these products might just be the ones, one in particular. The first item I’m going to show you.
Lemon Balm Body Gloss £24
Love the packaging and the name of the product. It makes me want to smother myself in it. Lemon Body Gloss! A “lustre loving” oil to moisturise and give radiance and glow. Yummy ingredients, Camellia oil, coconut oil, crambe oil, broccoli seed oil, avocado oil and then Lemon Balm and grapefruit to smell yummy, calm, uplift and keep insects away. Perfect for holiday evenings.
Then there’s the Chamomile & Oak Sleeping Beauty Cream £28
A night cream filled with gorgeous things, Oak and Millet for line and wrinkle reduction, Camomile to calm and soothe, hyaluronic acid to hydrate, smooth and plump, pumpkin see oil to lift and tone and anti oxidant rich Rice Bran Oil. I love the sound of this and the name and the packaging!
Finally, the Molly Necklace £28
A tribute to Molly Ringwald in her Pretty in Pink heyday. Red mirrored sunglasses with a clear and a red tinted lip balm. WANT!!!!
I’m thinking if I have to choose I’ll go for the necklace… in fact its my birthday this month… oh husband dearest….!
I blimmin well love my chubby sticks. I’ve reviewed them in detail in the past here and they are my go to lip products for days when I just want a quick slick of colour that’s light in texture. I’m so lucky to have all the previous shades but now I’ve a new one added to my collection. Pudgy Peony.
A recap on what chubby sticks are. A little stick of gorgeous coloured balm that twists up and is full of lovely ingredients such as shea butter, mango seed butter and jojoba seed oil.
This Summer sees the launch of 8 new shades. Yay. There’s heaping Hazlenut, Two Ton Tomato, Curvy Candy, Bountiful Blush, Oversized Orange, Might Mimosa, Voluptuous Violet and the one I have, Pudgy Peony. Apologies for the dark swatch, weather issues again.
There’s not heaps to say about these. I love them, I’ve written about my love of them before, I’m delighted there are more colours being added to the range and as soon as they are released I’ll be heading to the counter to check out the other shades. They are due for release on 1st June, will be £16 and available from Clinique counters and of course www.clinique.co.uk.

So continuing with my series of posts about the Clarins Summer collection, Enchanted, today I’m showing you the two new Colour Quench Lip Balms to to be added to the range.
I’ve heard a lot about these balms but had so far managed to resist because although I’m drawn to glosses like a moth to a flame, I rarely actually wear them! So I wasn’t especially excited about these but I have to say if I’d not have been sent them or bought them I’d really have missed out. These aren’t your average gloss.
The two shades for the Summer are Nude Delhi and Pink Jaipur. Please forgive the dark photographs, I’ve been waiting for a sun that doesn’t appear to be coming any time soon so I just had to get on with it!
Yes, Nude Delhi is a sheer pink shade on my lips. I would recommend enlarging the first of the two pictures to get a closer look at the finish of this, its full of subtle shimmer.
A brighter pop of pink again with plenty of shimmer that somehow stays in the back ground but is still present.
These are gorgeous! They smell absolutely beautiful (cherry (which you can also taste)), they are gorgeous to look at and given the name, they are of course not just a lip gloss these are a balm, beautifully moisturising as well as looking very pretty.
The Colour Quench Lip Balms are £15 each.

I was looking forward to this collection a huge amount. You can see how much by looking at my previous post.
So because I’ve got such a huge amount to show you, unusually for me I’m going to break the collection down into smaller posts, I normally prefer to do one big post but I just have far too many photographs so I’m starting with my favourite things. The new Instant Smooth Crystal Lip Balms (£16.50)
I had these all wrong. I thought they were transparent all the way through. They are not. Lets have a closer look.
So yes, there’s a core of colour inside. Which makes them a bit tricky to apply but with a little perseverance you can do it.
The finish of these is lovely and very balm like, but like a light balm, not a heavy greasy one but certainly a moisturising one. They are lightly scented (fruity) and even slightly flavoured I think. Not that I recommend you eat one. My absolute fave is Crystal Pink but they are all lovely. I can see that and Crystal Coral being sell outs. Despite their balmy texture you still get the great finish of a lipstick.
The wear time on these isn’t amazing, maybe about three hours without food and drink and regular reapplication of these is standard, for me though I’d expect that to be the case with this kind of product and I don’t see that as a downside. That is far outweighed by the beautiful packaging, pigment and moisturising properties.
These are beautiful ad I highly recommend.

I know there have been a lot of posts about this collection and the recent event, hopefully you’ll find this one a little different.
Sadly, I wasn’t able to attend the event but I was lucky enough to receive a couple of the products, hence this post.
Pixi isn’t a brand I’d ever really looked at I have to be honest, but when I saw this collection I just HAD to try it. I don’t even love Tinkerbell, although she is particularly popular with my 5 year old, but somehow the packaging of these products just really called my name and I think its stunningly beautiful. Just look at these outer boxes.
It’s like a grown up Tink. She’s SO beautiful and the gorgeous whimsical packaging is stunning. There are few pieces in this collection, I have two of them.
First up the Fairy Face Palette in Pixi Bell (£32)
I can’t even tell you how beautiful this is. It’s just gorgeous. It’s solid too, it doesn’t feel flimsy, even though it’s plastic, it feels solid and sturdy. Open it up and inside you’ll find this.
Five eyeshadows and five lip creams, each with a brush/sponge applicator and when you open it further you’ll find a blush and brush.
Now for the swatches.
The eyeshadows are beautiful and really well pigmented. The lip cremes are on the sheer-er side but are actually quite buildable for a deeper shade.
Here’s a closer look at those eye shadows.
Then there’s the blusher swatches, I’ve swatched the colours separately. (below left is another product).
I don’t know why the cheek colour swatches are so sheer, because you’ll see on my cheeks that the blush actually has plenty of pigment.
The other product I was sent is the Magic Tink Tint (£10)
A sort of lipstick/balm/gel crayon that turns a custom shade of pink on everyone. Oh this is beautiful. The consistency is amazing, moisturising but not too much slip, and I’ve seen on some blogs this looks like a real berry shade on some people, on me, that wasn’t the case. For reference, it’s a twist up pencil.
Swatched on my hand its a very sheer indeed pale pink. You’ve seen this pic before but now you know what that bottom stripe is 🙂
On my lips it turns this shade:
Love it. Of course because it’s different on everyone, this is useless in terms of how it would look on you, but y’know, its good to share these things anyway, I love this.
All the colours in this range are designed to suit and flatter everyone and I have to say that I love the way all the shades look on me and I’ve worn the face palette every single day. Anyway, here’s how I wore it one day last week.
This range couldn’t be more up my street I have to say. I love everything and I’ve just ordered a few more bits from the collection too. The Fairy Dust, the Straight on Til Morning liner and the Catching Shadows crayon.
I honestly can’t recommend this collection highly enough, in particular that palette. I am umming and ahhing about buying one to put away for Chloe as I think it would make a really lovely first make up kit for her when she is older. That doesn’t mean it’s childish though, it isn’t. This is a truly beautiful product for all ages, which is the beauty of the products held within.
Does anything from this range take your fancy, I have to say its really opened up my eyes and now I really am interested in trying more Pixi stuff.

Ah Mac. It’s been a while. As soon as I saw your beautiful colours and packaging and was tempted, and then I started seeing swatches and all was lost.
And then when I placed my order I had that feeling of nostalgia which was really quite nice, and then waiting for the order to come, which was really quite exciting, and then the delivery of the black box of joy as I always used to refer to my Mac deliveries, and the…oh sod it, I can’t keep up this bizarre style of posting.
(EDIT – something has happened to some of the pictures when I’ve posted this post, it’s not supposed to look like that :()
Here they are, my purchases. Beautiful packaging.
The brightly coloured packaging is just sleeves though and when removed, inside you’ll find the classic Mac packaging.
Included with my order were these.
I don’t know what to do with them but I love them and I point blank refuse to give them to my children. I just like looking at them. haha!
I picked up three of these. Lip balms with SPF of 12. I am so glad I got these. I’ve heard so much about them, and worth every bit of hype I’ve ever heard. The texture is beautiful as is the fruity scent. I have to say that if scented products aren’t your thing then you won’t like these because they are very scented, I love them. The texture is beautiful. Moisturising but it stays on and continues to moisturise for a long time after application. I find that many balms disappear very quickly needing constant reapplication. I do reapply these frequently but its because I love them, not because I need to.
Here’s a closer look at them.
Hot ‘n’ Saucy
Finally, because the lip swatches aren’t amazing, here they are on my hand. They are sheer colour but subtley different.
Next up the Cremeblend Blush in Restores Dazzle. I adore the Cremeblend blushes, this is my third and the others are very well used. This was a bit of a risk as all online pictures looked different. Varying from quite pinky purple, to deep burgundy. So here are my pictures. Make of them what you will, it’s very difficult to accurately photograph! That said the swatches are very accurate I think.
And on my cheeks, its just what I hoped it would be. A fresh pop of colour.
And finally I picked up two lipsticks. Dish it Up and Watch Me Simmer.
Hand swatches, Dish it up on the Left, Watch me Simmer on the Right.
And on the lips. Dish it Up.
Watch Me Simmer
I really like both of the colours but feel they are very summery so I felt a bit self conscious in them this week! They are both very vivid. Lovely coverage though!
EDIT: I have LIVED in Dish it Up since I originally wrote this post. It’s like it was just made for me, my teeth look whiter, it’s bright and colourful without being neon pink which I’m never sure suits me and I always feel self conscious in. Dish It Up FTW!
So thats it. Really like this collection, I could happily have got more but I don’t have unlimited funds so thats that.
Anything take your fancy, or have you bought anything from these collections, or any of the other 7 (!) collections launched at the same time?
I saw this collection over at British Beauty Blogger recently and much like the Spring Collection, I find myself wanting it pretty much all.
I’ve received the press release myself now so I just wanted to share some of the items with you.
The collection is inspired by the heart of India and the festival of colour. Think bronzed complexions, intense eye make up and lips highlighted with shimering shades.
First up is the Colour Quartet and Liner Palette £30.
Want!!! Beige, Bronze, Gold, Violet with a golden brown liner all in a beautiful compact.
Then there’s the Kohl Kajal Long-Lasting Eyeliner £15.
This comes not only in the black version but also in violet which you can see on British Beauty Blogger. It’s the violet one I want to go with the Colour Quartet!
There are four limited edition Instant Smooth Crystal Lip Balms, gloss, lipstick and balm all in one. £16.50
Shown above are Coral and Rose. There’s are also violet and pink versions, Violet has my name all over it, as does rose!
Then there are three new Bronzing Duo’s. £26
Given my new found love for Clarins powders, this is on the list. I’m interested to know why two shades in one pan! There are two darker versions too, but it’ll be the lightest one for me.
Then finally, Colour Quench Lip Balms £15. I do have an image for this product but alas Blogger won’t let me upload it for some reason. Available in two shades, Pink Jaipur and Nude Delhi. Described as luscious balms offering subtle colour and shine, both shades appeal.
The collection isn’t available until May. Booo. I can’t wait!
