Three blog posts in one day!

Anyway, I’ve not done a nail update for a couple of weeks.  So here we were at week one:

And here we are after five weeks of OPI Nail Envy and Lush Lemony Flutter.

They are obviously much better but I’m at a loss now as to how to improve the ragged cuticles. The nails are pretty strong but one did flake earlier today which isn’t ideal. Hmm. I’m about to use nail varnish 3 from my Trans Design Order, China Glaze Holographic TTYL. It’s the one I’m most disappointed in colour wise but I’ve only tested it on one nail so far so expect a report tomorrow!
Any advice on raggedy cuticles gratefully received!

Hi everyone,

It’s a lovely day today!

Anyway first off I need to ask you all a question. Firstly I’m 35 with rather a lot of fine lines and a couple of deep grooves around my mouth. Would you call that “first signs of aging” or “mature skin” in terms of skin care?

Secondly, what skin care range would you recommend for this kind of skin? I really need to look after my skin better.

Ok so this morning I used the first of my new polishes. Since my nails are still so short and for some unknown reason my cuticles have taken a turn for the worse despite my regime, I picked the most subtle of the colours in my opinion and the one most suited to short nails, China Glaze Recycle.

I’ll start with the good, I really love the colour.

Now the bad, I find China Glaze impossible to apply. I’ve been wearing nail varnish for 18 years and never had these problems before. First thin coat (on top of one coat of Nail Envy), patchy, pulls at itself as I brush it on… no worries though, that didn’t matter though since I was going for a second coat so I did a second coat, took a lot of effort to get a clear even finish, definitely not easy but it looked nice enough and I was pleased. Please excuse the state of my fingers here:

China Glaze Recycle

And then I went to look outside, horror! It’s patchy and not good at all.
China Glaze Recycle

In daylight ALL the nails look like this. Clearly I’m doing something radically wrong in the application but god know what, I’ve not had these problems with any other brand 🙁 Bit of a shame I bought so many.

Actually, it’s not week three at all but as I’ve labelled the pictures that way then thats how I’ll leave it, (its actually the end of week two). I’ve been trying to post this all night but the internet is proper crappy here today. boo.

Anyway, as you know, after weeks of biting followed by a couple of weeks of false nails I decided it was high time to get my nails in order and especially now as I have some polishes to play with. Anyway, just as a reminder this is how they looked when I removed the false nails.

As you can see, not pretty. So below is how they look now after two full weeks of OPI Nail Envy and Lush’s Lemony Flutter. It’s not such a great improvement on last week’s update but a HUGE improvement on the first pic. Really pleased, at this rate I’ll have something to paint with my polishes soon! Operation Nail Repair is going well.

So it’s been a week since I removed my false nails and decided it was time to look after them! I’ve been using Lush’s Lemony Flutter daily along with OPI Nail Envy for my nail repair process

Here’s how they looked last Tuesday.

And here we are today with a fresh coat of Nail Envy.

What do you think? Can you see an improvement? I can!

Also – please what skincare do you use? I like my Lush Cleansers but am looking for something for my millia and fine lines around my lips and eyes.

My nails are awful. I go through phases of biting, not biting and falsies. I grow them long, one breaks, I bite it off and lo! all my nails are gone. I wanted to wear my Chanel Blue Satin for Christmas so put on some falsies. What I was left with when I removed them this morning was not pretty. Time for some nail repair.

Using these two product I plan to nurse them back to health.

Even the first application has shown an improvement.

Watch this space. I’ll do another pic next week for comparison 🙂
